FINALLY got the Di Hickman/UHU sample challenge done!

Monday PM: I just submitted this for the challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar to create something Blooming Marvelous. I think this card grew on me...see below.

I'm not sure if it's just growing on me, or if my first impression of this card was way off. I finished it, but debated whether to start again or not. I'm not a huge fan of paper piecing because I can never seem to get the pieces to fit just right. At least when I'm sewing, a lot of the boo-boos in piecing can be covered up. On a card, it's harder.

Anyhoo, this card was for the Di Hickman challenge I chose in return for a UHU glue roller sample. I love simple layouts for their clean simplicity. Don't get me wrong, layered cards with lots of bellies are nice, too, but sometimes I just want to use my stash quickly or focus on just one element. Of course, simple layouts can end up just horrible if you don't get the focus right. =(

I may try again, but this is what I've got for now. I might enter it in another challenge, but might not. We'll see if I still like it in a day or two.

Thanks for looking!

I love it. It's unique and like some of my family that are tired of the same old snowmen and snowflake cards, would love it.

Beautiful idea,

I love it! Great take on the sketch! I also prefer the simple, linear look to my cards and layouts, just my graphic design background I guess. I do the layered thing occassionally but it usually involves much stressing! Great work on the challenge!
