SCH: Mother's Day Dogwood

Welcome to Fabulous Friday with Sugar Creek Hollow! I'm going to keep it short and sweet this week. I only have two weeks of school left, but there's still SO much to do!

The challenge to the DT this week was to make a Mother's Day card. I chose the Dogwood image to make mine and got a bit carried away with the embellishments! My starting point was this week's CPS sketch.

AiF and the ABCs

http://aivault.com/store/

Welcome back to another AiF challenge! This week we are challenged to make anything BUT a card! This isn't always easy for me, but the set I got to work with screamed an idea the moment I saw it!  =D

My niece is turning 2 this June and LOVES to play in the kitchen with her mommy and daddy while they cook. I thought this would make a perfect memory game with magnetic backing to play on the fridge.

supplies ~ cardstock: Georgia Pacific, digi paper: Digital Blueprint Happy Hour, magenetic laminator: Xyron, images: Aif

I printed the animals on some digi paper I downloaded, then printed another exact copy on plain white cardstock. After trimming the mat down and cutting out the extra animals, I ran it all through my Xyron with a magnetic laminating cartridge. Now her mom and dad can put it anywhere on the fridge, and the pieces stay put!

Would you like to play along? Just make anything but card - AiF images are not required - then link it up on the AiF Challenge Blog by 10 pm EST on Wednesday, April 28. If you use any galleries, please use the tag AiF033.

Okay - thanks for stopping by today! Off you go the the rest of the design team to get more inspiration!

Birthday fun with AiFactory

It's time for another AiF challenge, and this week it's BIRTHDAYS! I can never have too many birthday cards, so I'm loving this challenge! I decided to keep it simple and versatile enough for a man or a woman, and this card went together QUICK! First, take a look at the set I used:

I LOVE the clean and simple lines! These kinds of images are great for coloring, paper piecing or simply cutting out, like I did in my card this week. Just two layers and some ribbon make this card a fast one. I did take time to add a little sparkle with my Stardust pen, but that didn't take very long. And the clouds are popped up on some pop dots.

Thank goodness it's Friday - FABULOUS Friday!

What a week! It's finally Friday, though, and that means it's time to blog hop! The design team and I have been making some eye candy for you, so sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!

This week, I decided to pair a sentiment with a frame that I've been dying to use for some time now. I printed the frame and sentiment a second time on some scrap paper so I could cut out the center part and use it as a mask to sponge the frame with some Memento New Sprout. Then I used the negative part to mask the frame and sponge the sentiment panel in Memento Angel Pink. After cutting out the frame, I mounted it on a cute little floral background with some ribbon and flowers as embellishment.

I entered this card in The Pink Elephant, too.

AiFactory honors our mothers

With Easter behind us and spring becoming more obvious every day, it's time to look to Mother's Day! This week, AiFactory wants us to focus our projects on that very special woman in our lives. My card today uses this beautiful stamp:

I love flowers, so this stamp naturally drew my eye. I started with the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge and entered it in The Pink Elephant, too. I colored it with my Prisma pencils and OMS, then paired the image with some scrap cardstock and patterned paper. A little embossing around the Spellbinders die edges and some inking while still in the die finish off the card!

supplies ~ cardstock: Prism (pink) and Fiskars (green), dsp: Paper Craft Inspirations

How do you enter, you ask? Just make your Mother's Day card. Then upload your creation to the AiF Challenge blog by Wednesday, April 14th at 10:30pm EST to be eligible for a chance to win your choice of two of the Mother's Day images and a chance to be a guest designer. If uploading to an online gallery please use AIF031. We will announce the winner on Thursday, April 14th when we post the new challenge.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit this week. It's now time for you to visit the other gals on the design team for more inspiration! Have a great Thursday!

Let's hop with Sugar Creek Hollow & new releases

    Hey there,
Today is a brand new day at Sugar Creek Hollow. We have some exciting news, new digis and a blog hop game to play today.

First up, we want to welcome Martha from Creating Is Fun as our April Guest Designer. We also want to share that Kelly our March GD from Sandcastle Stamper has joined the SCH family as a full time designers. Please help me welcome these talented ladies to the team!

My card is pretty simple this week. I wanted to showcase the verse and frame, so everything else was kept to a minimum. I used just one layer of dsp, embossed the exposed part of cardstock, and then distressed the focal panel with three different Distress Inks. A tiny bit of color with a Prisma pencil was all it took to tie it to the background.
