Friends With Flair Friday

It's finally Friday, so that means it's Unity's Friend With Flair Friday! It's been a really long time since I played along, so for those of you who are newish to my blog, today is the day Unity customers get to showcase projects using Unity stamps. And since I'm an addict of Unity and {ippity}, I love to play when I can!

I'll keep it short and sweet, like my card. I used up some scrap cardstock and a sentiment from the {ippity} kit Now & Always. I used this week's CPS sketch, so a few flowers with rhinestone centers are all the embellishment this simple card needed.

supplies ~ cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Martha Stewart (red), The Paper Company (black); flowers: Petaloo; rhinestones: Darice; sentiment: {ippity} Now & Always

See? Not so bad, right?  =D

If you want to see more Unity and {ippity} projects, head over to the Unity blog to get the full list of participants, and make sure you look for the special blinkie - leave a comment on that blog to enter for some free Unity - YUM!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend! Remember that there's only a few days left on my {ippity} sale, so get your stamps at a great price while you can - I'll see you again next week!

PS ~ Do you love {ippity} stamps? Check out my {ippity} page!

Fabulous Friday with Sugar Creek Hollow

Friday! I'm so glad the weekend is upon us! This week I'm sharing with you a newer Sugar Creek Hollow image for a Father's Day card. Growing up, the rodeo at the country fair was a family favorite - it wasn't a fair without the rodeo as far as we were concerned!  =D  So this card is for my dad this year.

I started with last week's color challenge, but never got to finish it in time, so here it is this week. I wanted the badge to look like a real one but cutting out the circle in the background was going to be a real bugger. I opted instead to cut my own with nesties, then cut out the star from the image to mount over the top. A cowboy hat, sentiment and a little jute to resemble rope were all that I needed to give this a real western feel. Oh, but the background was so plain! I dug around in my embossing folders and ran across this paisley pattern that reminded me of the the red and blue kerchiefs you often see associated with cowboys. My dad's every day work kerchiefs were the same kind.

supplies ~ cardstock: The Paper Company (cream), SU! (Chocolate Chip), Martha Stewart (blue); jute: stash; images: Sugar Creek Hollow

This card also marks my last as a design team member with Sugar Creek Hollow. It has been a great experience working with Tracy's digis and a stretch for me as I tried my hand at vintage cards. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not, but at least I tried! Make sure you stop by the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe to pick up your freebie! Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by for a visit!

New {ippity} peeks have begun!

Have you seen the new {ippity} peeks yet? Trust me, I've seen the complete sets, and they are ca-ute! Plus, there is a very special change in the sets. Hint: think lower prices! Yup, you heard right! There are a few kits that have fewer stamps and a lower price - great for those of us on a budget! Here are the first few peaks (and remember there are more stamps than this in each set!)...

Awesome, huh?!?! Stay tuned for more peeks the rest of the week - May 13 is release day!

PS ~ Do you love {ippity} stamps? You can buy them from me on my {ippity} page!

I'm back for the {ippity} Hop!

It has been a looooong time since I've done the {ippity} Hop! I am really glad to be back, though, and hope to be a regular {ippity} Hop player once again! Make sure you read all the way to the end of this post for a special announcement!

I had a little time to make a rather simple set of six cards and matching card box in the last couple of weeks. Because it's been rather hectic in my neck of the woods, this set took me that long when it should have gone together in a matter of an hour or two. C'est la vie, I suppose!

I CASEd a card for this one, and used a simple box template. It's easier to make than other boxes I've done, uses a single 8.5" x 11 sheet of cardstock, but only holds about 5-6 cards with envelopes. Given my lack of time to do big sets, though, I think it's pretty near perfect for my needs.  =D

This technique uses embossed resist to get the image to pop out. I used a solid stamp from the {ippity} kit Where You Should Be to stamp on a square of paper from an old children's book. Then I sponged on some light green ink, then darker green ink to bring out the image. One more swipe over the image with a clean paper towel to pick up ink left behind on the embossed image, and there's the branch! I also used a stamp from one of the Unity KOM sets and the distressed dots background stamp.

supplies ~ cardstock: Prism (cream and greens) & Bazzill (kraft), stamps: Unity Distressed Dots, March 2010 KOM {Rockin' It Unity Style} & {ippity} Where You Should Be

Now for the special announcement - how about a sale? Buy one kit, get the second one of equal or lesser value 1/2 off plus FREE shipping! AND every order will have a surprise gift included! I have every set from the Fall and Winter releases in stock and ready to ship; I am currently out of the Spring sets but anticipate a shipment of them soon. This sale is good until Sunday, May 16. To order, just email me and I'll send a PayPal invoice.

Oh, and get ready for peeks of the new {ippity} sets coming out - their fabulous!  =D

Okay, I think that's enough excitement for one day - off to the next blog in the hop! Thanks for visiting, and enjoy your day!

AiFactory Blog Hop...You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello

The current AiF design team is ready to welcome the new DT members, and we're doing it with a blog hop! We have prizes, freebies and FUN in store just for you! If you arrived from Fink's blog then you are on the right track. If not, go to the AiFactory Challenge Blog and start at the beginning.

For my project, I kept it pretty simple: I decided to make invitations with the clipart that Mia provided. I printed the balloon image four times on one side of a sheet of cardstock, then flipped it to print four invitations. The best part is that I could reuse the sheet I set up as many times as I wanted to!

Make sure you leave a comment on each designer's post to be entered for a special prize: a $20 gift certificate to the AiFactory store. One randomly chosen commenter on one of the DT blogs will get it!

There's a second prize, too! Every DT member has a secret letter for you to find. Once you have all the letters, unscramble them to find out the secret phrase. My secret letter is R. Once you have all the letters, unscramble them and email Angie your unscrambled phrase; she will select one of the entries at random to win a $10 gift certificate. Sweet!

And if that wasn't enough, there are FREEBIES scattered throughout the DT members blogs. Sorry, but I'm not one of them - keep looking!

Okay, off you go to Fliss. Have fun, and happy hopping!  =D

Fabulous Friday with Sugar Creek Hollow

Welcome to another week of Sugar Creek Hollow goodness! This week we are showcasing Mother's Day easel cards. They are soooo easy to make, and are a fun way to spice up your card repetoire. If you've never made one, head over to Splitcoast Stampers to see this tutorial!

This week, I decided to use one of the freebie Mother's Day sentiments as the focal point of my card. It's a pretty, elegant sentiment on its own so I wanted to use papers that matched. These are all pearlized papers from DCWV, and they are just gorgeous! I used the sketch from 2S4Y, but flipped it. A few pearls and a lacy punch were all I needed to dress up this otherwise simple card.

supplies ~ cardstock base: Georgia Pacific, dsp: DCWV Luxury Stack, pearls: Michael's, sentiment: Sugar Creek Hollow

Thanks for stopping by today! Remember to visit the other DT gals and pick up your freebie over at Sugar Creek Hollow, too!

{ippity}, DT stuff and chillin' on a Sunday...and not in that order

I am so glad that it's Sunday! This is the first time in a LONG time that I've had a Sunday to just relax - no lesson plans, so grading, no nothin'.....just relaxing.

I know that I've been far too busy since I posted just 6 - yes, SIX - times in the month of April. My average is closer to 15-20, so it's obvious to me that card making was not at the top of my priority list last month. With school winding down and a DT spot coming to an end, I hope to have more time to just play. That's something I haven't done enough of in a while.  =(

For those of you who have continued to visit my blog, thank you. I appreciate the comments left on my posts, and very soon I'll be posting more Doodle Dragon, Sugar Creek Hollow and my favorite stamp companies. PLUS I'll be revamping my {ippity} sales so that they are on this blog on a page of their own instead of a separate blog and having a sale to clear out my inventory.

Keep an eye out for my final AiFactory DT post...we're working on a blog hop to introduce the new team - I really love a good hop!

Signing off for now...catch ya later!
