CAS-ual Friday 46: Inspired by Song

Hello! Today I'm sharing my CAS-ual Friday Challenge card. The theme this week is to be inspired by a song. The song I chose was "Shine" by Newsboys, and here's the card:

I used the {ippity} kit {...shine, shine, shine.} for the light bulbs and sentiment. I really had to search my stash to find a background that suited the rest of the card, but I finally found what I wanted in my Unity KOM from June 2010 - now THAT's a blast from the past!

I stamped the light bulb three times at different lengths and paper pieced one of them after sponging on some white ink to create a "glow" from the bulb. To give the sentiment and focal image a bit more depth, I inked the edges before attaching to the card.

Remember that you still have time to get in on the FABULOUS 40% off sale at Unity's website. The sale does include {ippity}, so be sure to click my photo to go straight to the shop and add them to your cart!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy weekend!

FWF: Multi-layer stamping

Have you seen the phenomenal layers of stamping Tim Holtz usually does (something like this)? I saw a card by Heather Telford that uses the same technique, but hers was a bit more my style...I really wanted to try it!

I didn't have any of the same stamps, of course, so I dug through my collection to see if I could find something similar. Here's the final result:

All the stamps are {ippity} except for the the text, which is Christy Tomlinson's "SHE-art print texture". The {ippity} stamps I used were A Moment in Time and My True Joy. I really like how it came out - I think I may have to try this again!

Make sure you shop Unity's sale this weekend - 40% off all stamps, including {ippity}! Make sure you click my picture to add {ippity} to your order (my pic below will take you straight to the Unity shop)!

More {ippity} suckers

Hello! I have to say I think spring is finally springing here in Alaska - we are finally getting temps in the 40s & 50s during the day, but the REAL meltage will start once we stay above freezing around the clock - bring it on!

On Sunday I posted a card here that uses the {ippity} itty bitty "sucks getting old", but I only used half of the suckers I had in my stash. I used the other ones on today's card. Same layout, same rainbow color scheme, but with different colors.

Make sure you come visit for Friends with Flair (Thursday PM or Friday AM)...I tried a new technique that I think I really like!

Check out this weekend's sale! Click my photo below to add {ippity} and shop your heart out!

See you soon!

Sunday Suckers

Hello, friends! Today's post is a quick one.  :)

I used the {ippity} itty bitty "sucks getting old" and got my inspiration from Tracy's card. I actually stamped, colored and cut out the candies right after I got the set, but never got around to putting them on a card that I had in mind. When I saw Tracy's card, though, I decided that I wanted to use these candies here. I'm glad I did, because I think I like this better than the original idea I had!

Remember that Unity has another rockin' sale going on. If you want to add this or other {ippity} stamps to your order, just click my photo below to go shopping.

Have a very relaxing and blessed Sunday!

{ippity} Chick Challenge 23: I'm sponsoring!

Welcome to Chick Challenges with {ippity}! This week, I'm sponsoring the challenge, and here's what I made!

It's called a Criss Cross Pocket card. Inside the pocket is an insert (or you could put anything in it, really) where you can write your message.

The flower on the belly band is perfect for paper piecing or coloring - and what a beautiful flourish!

I love this kit, Now and Always!

Chick Challenges with {ippity}

Friends With {ippity} Flair

Hello, friends! I'm getting in just under the wire for this week's Unity FWF post. Who would have expected my Spring Break to be so busy? Not me! Remember to comment on all the blogs to get in on a prize!

So this week I'll keep is short and sweet. Two dear friends of mine lost a much-loved relative, so I made sympathy cards for them. I used the same {ippity} stamps (the dragonflies from Thankful for You & the sentiment from Just Wanted to Say...), just in different ways so the two cards would be unique. The first one was regular 'ole stamping, the second uses embossed resist. Sorry about the lighting - click the picture to get a better view.

Remember that Unity is having another FABULOUS sale; make sure to click my photo to add {ippity} to your order!

Fabulous blog hop - March {ippity} release

It's another {ippity} release day - that means another blog hop with the {ippity} chicks! You should have arrived from Maria's blog.  If not, there's a list below to help you get back on track - or start at the beginning by clicking the badge above!

I decided to keep my card simple. As soon as I saw this image, I knew I wanted to let the image take center stage! I used some distress ink on the edges just to give it a bit more dimension, and highlighted with my Sakura Stardust pen some of the "metallic" parts of the image.

Here's a close up so you can see the sparkly highlights!

You'll want to complete the WHOLE HOP for a chance at a PRIZE! Each blog will have a word that will form a quote. Collect the words, figure out the quote, then email Rona at the end of the hop. A winner will be drawn to win some {ippity} - more details will be near the end of the hop.

My word is WEATHER.

Remember, I would love to be your {ippity} chick! You can now order {ippity} straight from the Unity site - just click my picture to add {ippity} to your cart!

Below is the complete list if you get lost along the way. Thanks for hopping with us!
