Hip Hop Hangover does the VSN

Welcome! Did you go the the HOP yesterday? It was fun, and lots of prizes were given away; you should try it! If you are new to Hip Hop Hangover, today is the day Unity customers get to show off what they've made with Unity stamps. More inspiration can be found on the Unity blog!

Today I have THREE cards to show you - get ready for a longer than usual post! Virtual Stamp Night was last weekend, and I completed all five challenges. Not all of them had Unity on them, so I'll save the others for another post or two.

First up is an A2 card box. Does the image look familiar? I LOVE this ice cream cone! Not only is it simple to color, but it's just so much fun! The VSN challenge was to make our own faux liquid applique to make our image 3D. I used Pearl Ex powder to give the white part of the cone some shimmer, then added Hottie Pink Shimmerz to the leftover liquid to paint the bottom scoop. You can also use reinkers if you have them (which I don't, so I improvised). If you want to know how to make this SUPER simple liquid applique with stuff you have at home already, go here for a short demo. All the materials for this card were in my scrap tray except for the cardstock to make the box itself.

supplies ~ cardstock base: DCWV, pink cardstock: stash, watercolor paper: Strathmore, image & sentiment: Unity KOM {perfect in every way}, faux liquid applique: SU recipe + Pearl Ex Pearl White + Hottie Pink Blingz

The next card was for the challenge to make a masculine green card. These trees have been stamped out and sitting on my desk for a while waiting for me to color them in and put them on a card, so I thought green...trees...masculine...yep! Another scrap card, this one uses some brown Urban Rhapsody to complement the green/brown coloring of the trees.

supplies ~ cardstock: DCWV, dsp: K & Co. Urban Rhapsody, image: Unity March KOM {simple life)

Last up (whew!) is a little pull-treat pocket. I decided to hide some flower seeds inside. MORE scraps from my scrap tray were used for the dsp (can you tell I'm trying to use them up?) along with a little new cardstock and ribbon.

supplies ~ cardstock base: Martha Stewart, pink cardstock: stash, dsp: Hot Off the Press, ribbon: Michael's, seed packet: Lilly Miller Forget-Me-Nots, image & sentiment: Unity June KOM {perfect in every way}

Just to let you know, I'll be away from my computer for a couple of weeks, but I'm trying to schedule a few posts so you don't forget all about me! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net I've been making a ton of cards and just haven't had time to post them yet.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a great weekend! I'll see you later, taters!
